Police Uncover Stolen Gun, Police Badge & Drugs During Traffic Stop

The incident occurred March 5 in Lawrenceburg.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Two men are facing multiple drug-related charges after a traffic stop in Lawrenceburg. 

Lawrenceburg Police initiated a traffic stop on March 5 around 12:21 a.m. During the stop, police made contact with the driver, Chad E. Hammann, 36, of Aurora, and his passenger, Andrew D. Revelee, 28, of Cincinnati. 

Police say Hammann identified himself has Konrad L. Hammann. According to a probable cause affidavit, police quickly learned his real name was Chad and that he had an active warrant and was driving with a suspended license. 

At that time, police noticed some nervous behavior from the passengers and asked for consent to search the vehicle. Hammann allegedly denied consent then changed his answer. 

A police K9 was requested and Hammann and Revelee were asked to exit the vehicle. At that time, Hammann allegedly admitted to having "pot" on him and began "flight or fight" behaviors. 

Police say Hammann resisted arrest and stated, "I'm trying not to headbutt you right now". 

At the same time, Revelee was allegedly observed dropping a handgun. 

Police located the gun, which was reported stolen out of Butler County, Ohio. Revelee was also allegedly found in possession of a Norwood, Ohio police badge. Norwood Police confirmed that Revelee was not employed there nor has he ever been a police officer. 

During a probable cause search of the vehicle, police say they located methamphetamine, numerous pills and other drug paraphernalia. 

Hammann is charged with Possession of Narcotic Drugs (Sch. 1 or II), a Level 6 Felony, Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony), Intimidation (Level 6 Felony), Identity Deception (Level 6 Felony), Operating While Suspended (Class A Misdemeanor), Resisting Law Enforcement (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor). 

Revelee is charged with Possession of Narcotic Drugs (Sch. 1 or II), a Level 6 Felony, Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor), Carrying a Handgun Without a Licence (Class A Misdemeanor), Theft (Firearm), a Level 6 Felony, and Impersonation of a Public Servant (Level 6 Felony).

Hammann is held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center on $75,000 surety and $2,500 cash bond. Revelee is also jailed on $100,000 surety and $3,500 cash bond.
