Flood Watch Issued For Tri-State

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - It’s already been a wet day, and another couple inches of rain are expected through Tuesday morning.

 

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for southeast Indiana, northern Kentucky, and southwest Ohio through noon Tuesday. A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.

 

Meteorologists say a low pressure area over the Tennessee Valley will move northward across the Ohio Valley Monday night into Tuesday, bringing prolonged rain.

Soil is already saturated with creeks and streams running high. Another one to two inches expected through Tuesday could result in area flooding.

 

The Ohio River at Cincinnati is running at nearly 48 feet as of Monday afternoon. Flood stage is 52 feet.
