(Burlington, Ky.) - A former northern Kentucky star basketball player is under indictment for rape and sodomy charges.

A Boone County grand jury indicted Jacob Walter, 18, of Burlington, on Thursday morning.

Authorities say Walter raped and sodomized a woman last December 9.

The victim suffered multiple injuries. She told family, who persuaded her to report the alleged rape. She said she was afraid of Walter due to his size – 7 feet, 300 pounds – and claimed he held her down and forced himself on her.

The indictment is Walter’s second time facing rape charges in less than a year. Last May when he was 17-years-old, he allegedly raped a juvenile girl. He was sentenced to 30 days of in-home detention and state supervision for up to three years. He was also required to register as a juvenile sex offender.
