Below is a running list of Independence Day celebrations in the area. For events not listed please email full details to be added.   

 

FRIDAY, JUNE 30

Osgood (Ripley County Fireworks Celebration) - The Ripley County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration. The Sugar-N-Smoke Food Trailer will be serving up Smokin Meats and Sweet Treats!! Activities starting at 5:00.

Batesville (Star Spangled Symphony) - Everyone's favorite summer event is back! On June 29th, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra returns to the Bill Gillespie Soccer Park for its 5th year. Join us for a wonderful evening of music, fireworks, and community. Gates open at 6pm and the performance will begin at 8pm.

Independence, Ky (Independence Celebration and Saturday Fireworks) - This year’s festival will be a two-day event commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Independence Celebration. Event is complete with rides, games, live music, food, fun and FIREWORKS! 
FAMILY FUN FRIDAY 5pm to 11pm - Bring the kiddos out as the festival opens with family fun activities all night long!                                                  SATURDAY SPECTACULAR starts at 10:00 a.m. with activities going all day and Vito's Fireworks Show starting at 10:00 p.m.

 

SATURDAY, JULY 1

Aurora (Light Up Aurora) - The event will run from 6:00-10:00 p.m. at Gabbard Riverfront Park. Festivities include a beer and wine garden, local vendors, kids area with bouncy houses, food, and Cruise-in. Kristine Kabbes and The Skallywags will hit the stage from 6-10. Fireworks will go off at 10:00 p.m. Tune in to Eagle Country 99.3 and crank up the tunes as Your Hometown Radio Station will provide the fireworks soundtrack. 

Harrison, OH. (Thank a Vet Day) - Running from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., the event will feature Huey Helicopter rides, drink specials for Vets, military vehicles on display, DJ, food truck, and live music. A special salute to Veterans will be held at 3:00. Plus, Eagle Country 99.3 will broadcast live from the event from noon until 2:00. 

Rising Sun (Stars and Stripes) - The event will run from 4:00-11:00 p.m. in downtown Rising Sun. Festivities include local and food vendors, live music, kids foam party, and fireworks at 10:00. 

 

MONDAY, JULY 3

Cincinnati, OH (Coney Island Balloon Glow 2023) - Coney Island Balloon Glow is an annual family-friendly event taking place at Coney Island Amusement Park in Cincinnati during the Independence Day Weekend. Coney Island Balloon Glow usually starts at 8 pm and ends with a spectacular fireworks display at about 10 pm. Coney Island offers plenty of fun activities for children. During the day, kids can enjoy inflatables, paddleboats, and mini-golf. Meanwhile, adults can check out craft beer booths in Moonlite Pavilion. Food and drink concessions are available on the site. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or a blanket to sit on the grass during a spectacular show of glowing hot air balloons.

Florence, Ky. - The City of Florence is excited to announce they will celebrate Independence Day at the Florence Government Center, 8100 Ewing Blvd., Florence, on Monday, July 3, 2023 with an event beginning at 7:00 p.m. Families, friends and fellow citizens are invited to gather and commemorate the nation’s independence. The event will feature an array of food trucks to satisfy your taste buds including Dreamy Whip, Kona Ice, Travelin’ Toms, Poseidon’s Pizza, Eddie’s BBQ, Caramel Cuties Sweets, and Bailey Janes. There will be a kid’s activity area and live music during the event. The Florence Community Band will play at 7:00 p.m. and live music from DJ Nick begins at 8:00 p.m. The highlight of the event will be the dazzling fireworks show by Elite Pyrotechnics at 10:00 p.m. The City of Florence extends a warm invitation to the residents of Florence and surrounding areas to join in this incredible event and show their patriotic spirit. Come with your loved ones, bring your chairs, and settle in for an evening of unforgettable entertainment. We look forward to seeing you at the Independence Day Celebration!

 

TUESDAY, JULY 4

Greendale - The day starts with the Greendale 4th of July 5K Run/Walk. Day of registration will be available from 6:30-8:00 AM at the Greendale Cabin. Online registration is available at www.stuartroadracing.com. The Fishing Derby starts at 9 AM at Schnebelt Pond. Enjoy the Greendale Pool from noon to 6:00 PM. The Bike and Golf Cart Parades will lineup at Oakey Park. Bike Parade starts at 2:00 p.m. followed by the Golf Cart Parade at 2:30. Entertainment and fireworks at Greendale Park between 7:30 and 10:00. Enjoy vendors, live music, and fireworks (beginning around 9:50 p.m.)

Harrison (Fourth of July Celebration) The parade begins July 4 at 4 p.m. from the intersection of George and Broadway streets.
Following the parade, family-friendly festivities are planned at the Community Center (300 George Street). Starting at 5 p.m., there will be live music by P&G Big Band and food, drinks and adult beverages available for purchase. There will be a cornhole tournament at 6 p.m. and live music by HiFi Honey Band at 7 p.m. Fireworks will start at dusk. 

Milan (Milan Fireworks) - Fireworks to be set off from the Park at dusk.

Stricker's Grove (4th of July Celebration) - Our 4th of July event is our most popular open to the public days. Enjoy rides, food, friends and family and cap the day off with fireworks! Admission to the park is free. If your party would like to ride rides we have a couple options. Purchase individual tickets or an arm band for unlimited riding. Park Admission: FREE - Park Hours: 2pm - 11pm Rides: 3pm - 11pm Fireworks: 10pm.
