These updates include a staggered start date and required face masks.
(Franklin County, Ind.) - The Franklin County Community School Corporation (FCCSC) has announced two revisions to the corporations Reopening Plan that was unanimously passed by the Franklin County Board of School Trustees earlier this month.
On Monday, the school board approved two changes, which includes a staggered start date and required face coverings. Families and students will still have the two options of in-person instruction or online learning.
Staggered Start Date
The student body will be divided in half to begin the 2020-2021 school year in two days.
On Wednesday, August 5, students in grades PreK (BES only), 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 will return to school. Thursday, August 6, students in grades PreK (BES only), K, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 will return to school.
All students will come to school Friday, August 7.
Requires Face Coverings
When students return to school, they will be required to wear face coverings when:
- entering the school building (bus or car rider)
- during the school day when moving through the building (hallways)
- any time that social distancing in not possible (working in labs, small groups, etc.)
The previous reopening plan "highly recommended" face coverings throughout the school day, and only required them on the school bus.
