Gas May Soon Go Beyond $4

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – There’s a good chance gas prices in the tri-state may soon exceed $4 a gallon, based on what is happening in central Indiana.

Stations in the Indianapolis area began posting $4.15 for a gallon of regular unleaded on Tuesday.

That price was seen as close at Greensburg Tuesday evening and Madison Wednesday morning, according to price tracking website GasBuddy.com.

The highest price being found in the Eagle 99.3 listening area is $4.09 in Brookville as of Wednesday morning. Most stations in Lawrenceburg, Aurora, Harrison, and Florence are at about $3.99.

GasBuddy.com reports the average price in the Greater Cincinnati area is $3.83, down from $3.94 a week ago. This time a year ago, local prices were averaging $3.52.

The spike comes as oil prices on Wall Street closed steady at $107 a barrel Tuesday.
