The 21-year-old from Hidden Valley finished 11th in men’s ski slopestyle on Sunday in Aspen, Colorado. Goepper crashed on all three of his runs in the slopestyle finals. His best run received a score of 55.33 out of 100. The gold medal in slopestyle went to New Zealander Jossie Wells with a score of 90.00. American Gus Kenworthy earned silver with 87.33 and the bronze went to Oystein Braaten, of Norway, with an 84.33. Goepper was trying to become the first X Games athlete ever to four-peat in ski slopestyle. He won Winter X gold in the event each of the three prior years. It’s the first time Goepper has failed to earn a medal at Winter X Aspen since he began competing there in 2012. He won silver in his first X Games performance in 2012. The 21-year-old did represent the tri-state well, wearing a Cincinnati Reds jersey while competing at the X Games.
