By Mike Perleberg Photo submitted. (Greendale, Ind.) – Greendale Police are attempting to track down the person responsible for phoning in a bomb threat to the local movie theater. Somebody sent a threatening message to Greendale Cinema at around 12:15 p.m. Thursday stating that there was a bomb located in a theater, according to GPD Assistant Chief Jeff Lane. There were no customers in the theater at the time, as the cinema does not open until 12:30. Lane said police and firefighters were assisted by two bomb sniffing dogs from the security staff at the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky. No evidence of a bomb was found during a walkthrough of the building. The bomb threat remains under investigation. Greendale Cinema opened later in the afternoon after the building was deemed safe by police. Greendale Fire Department and Greendale Life Squad also responded to the scene. "Ensuring the safety of our patrons and staff is of highest priority to Greendale Cinema. After receiving a threat this morning before opening, we requested Greendale Police to investigate. The threat was deemed to be not-credible, and normal operations resumed after receiving the all clear from the authorities. We would like to thank Greendale Police for their swift response and action. The cinema would like to thank the first responders as well," said Tim Doll, the cinema's director of operations.
