Greendale Police to Dedicate Memorial Stone for Fallen Officer

Otto John Glissman tragically lost his life on December 19, 1942.

(Greendale, Ind.) – Greendale Police will host a memorial service in honor of a fallen officer.

Otto John Glissman was struck and killed on December 19, 1942. He was attempting to flag down a driver to warn him that his headlights were not working when he was struck by a 19-year-old driver that was under the influence of alcohol.

A public memorial service will be held at the Greendale Police Department on December 19 at 2:00 p.m. The event will feature a memorial stone dedcation. 

“Please join us in remembering Officer Glissman and his ultimate sacrifice he gave to the City of Greendale,” said Chief Shane Slack.

Refreshments will be provided.
