(Harrison, Oh.) - Residents of a Harrison condominium building are being told that a fix is in the works for their homes threatened by a landslide, but who is ultimately responsible for the problem may end up in court.

Heavy rains caused a landslide at Legacy by Fischer Homes to expand dangerously close to the building last Sunday morning. The building sits on a hill just above a retired gravel pit.

More than a dozen families are now not allowed to stay in the building because it has been deemed unsafe. Some, including Kelly and Steve Meeks, have been packing up their belongings and looking for new homes this week.

A meeting between the residents, the HOA, and Fischer Homes was held Tuesday evening. Residents say they were told that the HOA and Fischer Homes will pay for a temporary fix to the landslide at a cost of about $100,000.

Fischer Homes is providing a stipend to the displaced families, but many of them remain worried about their investments in their condo units.
