INDIANAPOLIS – The NBA All-Star Game is coming to Indianapolis in 2024.

One of the elements of NBA All-Star Weekend will include Hoosier Historia, an arts-related project that gives Hoosiers in every county the chance to vote on their all-time favorite high school basketball memories from 50 stories compiled by a subcommittee of journalists, formers players and former coaches.

The top 24 selected memories will be turned into artwork, which will be on display during All-Star Weekend next year.

Among the top memories is the “Milan Miracle.”

The excerpt reads, “the quintessential Hoosier store, David vs Goliath, and a source of pride that defines Indiana basketball for people here in state and across the country, this story ultimately became one of the most recognizable sports tributes in Hollywood History.”

Milan defeated Muncie Central in the 1954 State Championship game by a final score of 32-30. With an enrollment of only 161, Milan was the smallest school ever to win a single-class state basketball title in Indiana.

The team and town are the inspiration for the 1986 film Hoosiers.

A full list of memories up for vote can be found at www.pacers.com/HoosierHistoria. Memories range from legendary players to unforgettable moments to iconic gyms.

The window to vote is short. The 24 finalists will be announced on March 23.
