(Switzerland County, Ind.) - A Dillsboro man was shot in a hunting accident during the opening weekend of deer firearm season in Indiana.

His firearm, which was slung over his shoulder pointing down, discharged as he fell. Sweetman was struck in his left heel.

Sweetman managed to make contact with his father and son, who contacted 911. He was airlifted to University of Cincinnati Medical Center to be treated for the gunshot.
