I-74 Eastbound Ramps At Batesville Closed For Two Weeks

You can't get on or off I-74 Eastbound at Batesville.

(Batesville, Ind.) - The exit and entrance ramps on Interstate 74 Eastbound at Batesville are closed for the next two weeks.

The Indiana Department of Transportation says construction crews put the ramp closures into effect late Sunday night.

The eastbound I-74 ramp closures at Batesville will be in effect for 15 days while the contractor reconstruct the eastbound lanes there. Crews with contractor Milestone will remove existing asphalt pavement at the ramp area, pour new concrete lanes and place asphalt wedges to compensate for grade differences where new pavement connects with temporary median crossover lanes.

For now, eastbound traffic on I-74 is being diverted into a single lane on the westbound side.

Motorists looking to access I-74 eastbound at Batesville should instead use State Road 46 as an alternate route, accessing I-74 via open ramps at New Point and S.R. 101.
