By Mike Perleberg Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. (Indianapolis, Ind.) - The biggest game in college football is coming to Indiana in 2022. That's the year Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis will host the College Football Playoff National Championship game. It will mark the first time the playoff title game is played in a cold-weather city. "We just kept asking ourselves, 'Why not go north?'" College Football Playoff Executive Director Bill Hancock said Wednesday. He added that Indianapolis has had success hosting the NCAA men's basketball Final Four and a Super Bowl in recent years. Four days of activities at the Indiana Convention Center will celebrate the championship. Indianapolis officials say the event could have a $150 million economic impact in the city. Other cities to host the college football championship game from 2021 through 2024 include Miami; Inglewood, California; and Houston from 2021 through 2024. This season's championship game will be held in Atlanta at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium. AP College Football Writer Ralph D. Russo contributed to this story.
