(Aurora, Ind.) – Citizens shouldn’t be alarmed when they see a medical helicopter and emergency vehicles heading toward South Dearborn High School on Monday.
With prom season approaching, the coordinated production will be a live demonstration showing students the emergency response to a drunk driving crash.
Dearborn County Sheriff’s Deputy Craig Elliott says South Dearborn High School has partnered with the sheriff’s department, Aurora Fire Department, Aurora Emergency Rescue, Hogan Township Fire Department, Indiana State Police, and UC Aircare to raise awareness for impaired and distracted driving.
The mock crash will take place on campus Monday, April 9 at approximately 1:30 p.m.
“We just want to let the community know what’s going on, when they see numerous fire and EMS trucks, along with Aircare at the school,” said Elliott.
