Timothy Grissett
Tasha Nichole Campbell
(Kenton County, Ky.) - The man who murdered a South Dearborn High School graduate is being sent to prison.
Timothy Grissett had contacted Tasha Nichole Campbell, 26, of Cleves, online. She met up with him at the Waffle House restaurant in Erlanger on June 29, 2012. Grissett would later take Campbell's life inside a vacant home on Hulbert Avenue in Erlanger.
A police warrant said Campbell’s body was found in that home on July 2. The decomposing body was discovered in the bedroom with her neck wrapped in duct tape and ankles bound with phone cord. Campbell had been stabbed multiple times, investigators said in a warrant.
On Wednesday, Grissett was in a Kenton County courtroom where a judge handed down a 25-year prison sentence. The 51-year-old had previously pleaded guilty to Campbell’s murder.
Grissett, of Erlanger, was arrested after the vehicle Campbell had taken to meet Grissett, which he had stolen, was found by police in South Carolina on July 3. He turned himself in to police the next day.
