While the library buildings will be open to patrons, there are new guidelines to keep the community and staff safe.
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Beginning Monday, the Lawrenceburg Public Library District branch buildings will reopen for limited hours.
New guidelines will be in place to keep the community and staff members as safe as possible, including a time limit of 30 minutes in the buildings.
Designated bins will be placed in the buildings to place materials that have been touched, but not checked out. This system will allow staff members to properly sanitize materials before placing them back on the shelves.
All checked-out materials will continue to be returned through the outside drop boxes.
Computer use will be by appointment only with a limit of 30 minutes, three times a week. Call Lawrenceburg at (812) 537-2775 or the North Dearborn Branch at (812) 637-0777 to make an appointment.
Patrons will be required to maintain a social distance of at least six feet and requested to use masks while in the library.
Hours for Lawrenceburg will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. North Dearborn will be open from noon to 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
For those that prefer curbside pick up, this will remain available during the temporary business hours at North Dearborn. At Lawrenceburg, drive-through hours will be available noon to 4 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
To place an order for pick up, visit the library district's online catalog to make selections. Patrons will be able to place holds by calling either branch or emailing circulation1@lpld.lib.in.us. Remember to indicate which branch you plan on picking materials up from. A notification will be sent when materials are ready.
At the North Dearborn branch, patrons will need to pull up to the marked curbside area and call the library at (812) 637-0777. A staff member will be out with the ordered items, with no need to leave your vehicle. Lawrenceburg's drive-through window is located in the driveway leading up to the window, located off of High Street. Both libraries requested that you have your library card ready for non-touch scanning.
The Lawrenceburg Public Library District is still offering the Homebound Service, a free program to offer library materials to library district residents who are unable to get to the library due to physical limitations or illness. Staff members select materials based on preferences and deliver them to homes on a monthly basis. Sign up for the Homebound Reader Profile at www.lpld.lib.in.us/homebound-service.\.
Online services continue to be available 24/7.
