LHS Planning To Host Graduation On Friday

The announcement comes a day after South Dearborn decided to reschedule their graduation ceremony for July 18.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Lawrenceburg HS plans to move forward with their graduation ceremony this week after another area school has rescheduled their commencement ceremony.

Superintendent Karl Galey tells Eagle Country that Lawrenceburg has been granted approval by the Dearborn County Health Officer to go on with their in-person graduation plans on Friday, July 10 at 8:00 p.m.

The announcement comes a day after South Dearborn Community School Corporation decided to push back their graduation ceremony to Saturday, July 18.  

Lawrenceburg's graduation ceremony will be held on the turf field at Dick Meador Stadium. Aside from the event being outdoors, the school corporation is using other best practices including, limited guests, ability to social distance and encouraging attendees to wear masks. 

The graduation ceremony remains optional and guests must present their ticket to attend based upon signed waivers.

The National Weather Service is calling for showers and thunderstorms on Friday night. In the event Lawrenceburg's graduation ceremony is cancelled due to weather, the rain make-up date is Saturday, July 11 at 9:00 a.m.
