Local Gas Prices Up A Dime, But Good News For Summer

(Greendale, Ind.) – Much like the daily high temperature in spring, gas prices are rising in the tri-state. A spike in crude oil prices is responsible for a rise in gas prices. CincyGasPrices.com reports the average price of self-serve regular fuel is up 10 cents this week to $2.55 a gallon. Most pumps in southeast Indiana range from $2.45 to $2.54. One station in Sunman was still advertising $2.39 as of Monday morning. In Florence, Hebron, Harrison, and Cleves, a handful of sellers were marked at $2.57 or $2.59. Although prices are higher this week, just be thankful we are not paying what we were a year ago, when the tri-state average was $3.07. Americans are likely to see cheaper gas this coming summer than last.  In fact, AAA says record high domestic oil production is likely to deliver the cheapest summer gas prices in a decade.
