(Milan, Ind.) – Community members will get their first look at the newly renovated gym lobby at Milan High School next week.
Superintendent Jane Rogers tells Eagle Country 99.3 that an Open House will be held on Monday, May 15 from 5:30 to 6:30.
“This will give community members an opportunity to walk through the new area prior to Milan’s graduation ceremony on May 27,” Rogers added.
The new gym lobby includes larger and updated concession and restroom areas, and a space designated for trophies, such as the 1954 State Championship. The lobby will also feature a mural featuring sports champions.
The gymnasium itself did not undergo any changes during the work. The gym floor was updated about four years ago and is in good shape.
Both the gym and lobby were developed in 1960. When updates were made to the gym floor a few years ago, that’s when administrators started thinking about updating the lobby.
A dedication ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 17 at 1:00 p.m. Members of the Milan 1954 team have been invited to participate in the dedication.
“We continue to enhance our facilities at Milan with wise use of taxpayer dollars,” said Rogers. “My extended thanks to the Milan School Board and administrative team for their planning efforts during the building process.”
