The airline announced Wednesday that it will enhance service in 13 of the 35 destination offered at CVG resulting in six percent more seats. More than 75 percent of all Delta flights from Cincinnati will include a first class cabin which Delta says will be the largest amount ever offered at the airport. “These enhancements reflect the solid demand from both business and leisure travelers,” said Joe Esposito, Delta vice president. “We are proud to serve our Cincinnati customers as the number one airline connecting Cincinnati to the world.” Delta will offer 82 peak-day departures from CVG starting in the summer. Additional daily flights will be added to Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Orlando and Toronto. Two markets will have extended schedules. Flights to Fort Myers, Florida will operate daily throughout the summer. Service to Seattle will be extended into the fall and spring. Jets will be upgraded for flights to Denver and Minneapolis. "CVG is pleased to see Delta's capacity growth and schedule enhancements," said Candace McGraw, CEO of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. "Delta's local CVG passenger volume has grown for 15 consecutive months and these changes will certainly help continue that trend while benefiting business and leisure customers in our region." Things are going pretty well for CVG lately. Delta's expansion come in response to the addition of Southwest Airlines at the airport this summer. Amazon announced that it will invest $1.49 billion in a new central cargo hub on land leased from the airport, a development that could also benefit air travelers with lower fares.
