UPDATE: Three People Hospitalized After SR 56 Crash

Update published Wednesday, June 19:

Three people went to the hospital following Tuesday morning’s crash on State Road 56 in Ohio County.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office says driver Karalyn Bishop, of Florence, Indiana, was traveling east on SR 56W when her vehicle went left-of-center and hit a vehicle driven by James Southard, of Rising Sun.

Bishop, Southard, and Southard’s passenger Julienne Strickling were all transported to Highpoint Health by Ohio County EMS and Aurora EMS.

The Rising Sun Police Department and Rising Sun Fire Department also responded to the crash.

(Ohio County, Ind.) - Multiple people are injured in a crash which has closed State Road 56 in Ohio County Tuesday morning.

The two-vehicle wreck happened on S.R. 56 near Stewart Ridge Road at around 10:40 a.m.

At least three people were reported to be injured. One person was said to be trapped inside their vehicle.

Emergency crews are on the scene. S.R. 56 is closed at this time.
