Photo courtesy U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team. (Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A clutch third run by Nick Goepper earned a silver medal in men's ski slopestyle at the Winter Olympics. The 23-year-old Hidden Valley native earned scores of 59.00 and 69.00 in his first and second runs, respectively, at Phoenix Snow Park in Pyeongchang, South Korea. In danger of completely missing the podium in his second Olympics appearance, Goepper pulled off a masterful performance during his final run to earn a 93.60. The score was second only to the 95.00 put up by Norway's Oystein Braaten in his first run of the finals. This silver medal is the secondOlympic medal for Goepper. He received bronze in the same competition at the 2014 winter games in Sochi, Russia. Fans were watching the competition on the television at Perfect North Slopes' lodge. After his best qualifying run, Goepper gave a shoutout to Indiana and Perfect North Slopes.

The two were part of an American sweep of the podium in slopestyle in Russia four years ago. The injured Kenworthy finished 12th in the finals this time. The bronze medal went to Canadian Alex Beaulieu-Marchand with a 92.40.
