NWS Skywarn Announces Three Virtual Storm Spotter Training Sessions

The webinars are open to the public and free to attend.

(Ripley County, Ind.) - Is storm tracking your thing?

The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Wilmington, Ohio has scheduled three virtual spotter training webinars that will be open to the public and free of charge.

Each of the three webinars will be conducted with a live Q&A session using the GoToWebinar software, which can host up to 1,000 people for each session.

If demand is high enough, the NWS may consider adding a fourth webinar in April or May.

Pre-registration is required by clicking the link above to the webinar you want to attend.

The Skywarn storm spotter program is a nationwide network of volunteers trained by the National Weather Service to report significant weather.

Storm Spotters provide critical information that helps mitigate technological limitations by providing real-time, ground truth observations of tornadoes, hail, wind, and significant cloud formations.
