(Batesville, Ind.) – Thanks to support from the community, Batesville High School will receive a $500,000 grant from the Indiana Department of Education.
Last week, Batesville High School was named one of three finalists for the Excellence in Next Level Educational Experiences and Opportunities Award.
As a finalist, Batesville High School was guaranteed to receive a $250,000 grant, but an online vote would determine which of the three finalists would receive an additional $250,000.
The vote took place on Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
On Saturday, Batesville administrators learned they won the vote while attending the ODOE Educational Excellence Awards Gala.
Batesville High School beat out the Linton Stockton School Corporation and Purdue Poly Technic High School for the award.
The Excellence in Next Level Educational Experiences and Opportunities Award recognizes an individual school or school district that is transformative in its holistic approach to prepare students for their future, including a focus on literacy, STEM, and college and career readiness.
