(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Pat O'Neill Memorial Pool will not open in time for Memorial Day weekend.

City of Lawrenceburg Mayor Kelly Molluan announced this morning on Eagle Country 99.3 that repairs are ongoing at the pool, which will postpone its opening.

At the beginning of May, city engineer Mario Todd told City Council that quite a few leaks have been located at the pool. The discovery was made as crews were preparing to install a new liner at the pool.

"We found out a few weeks back the pool had settled a little bit and with that some of the piping around the circumference of the pool had settled as well, and we lost water pressure and pressure within those pipes," said Mollaun.

The issue is currently being resolved, but repairs will not be made in time to open the pool this Memorial Day weekend, as previously scheduled.

Instead, the city is aiming to open Pat O'Neill Memorial Pool on Saturday, June 11.

"Just be patient folks. The pool will be open," Mollaun added.
