Oxford Teen Hurt In Franklin Co. Accident

An Oxford, Ohio teen passenger was seriously injured in a car crash in Franklin County on Wednesday.

(Franklin County, Ind.) - An Oxford, Ohio teen passenger was seriously injured in a car crash in Franklin County on Wednesday.

Elijah Kalkhoff, 26, of Oxford, was driving a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis on Oxford Pike near Liberty Pike when he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the road at about 1:44 p.m. The vehicle then struck a utility pole.

A passenger, Mercedes Mason, 18, was flown by Air Care to UC Medical Center.

Kalkhoff refused medical treatment.

Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies say neither of the occupants were wearing their seat belt.

Brookville Volunteer Fire Department, Brookville EMS 2 and Responder 24 assisted the sheriff’s department at the crash scene.
