(Greendale, Ind.) - Investigators did not have to look any further than a local pawn shop to find the person allegedly responsible for a couple home burglaries in Greendale.
A flat screen television was taken from a home on Tebbs Avenue last July 29. Just a week later, two guitars – valued at $1,000 and $1,500 – were swiped during a burglary at another home on the same street, according to a court affidavit.
Greendale Police found the guitars at pawn shops in Covington and Newport, Kentucky. The man who sold the pawn shop provided an ID to the shops. He was Charles E. Fletcher III, 31, of Rising Sun.
Officers questioned Fletcher, who allegedly admitted that he had burglarized the homes. Fletcher said he traded the television to a drug dealer in Cincinnati in exchange for heroin.
Fletcher has been charged with two counts of Burglary and two counts of Theft. He was arrested September 28 by police in Florence, Kentucky on a warrant out of Dearborn County.
