One Killed in Petersburg Road Crash

(Petersburg, Ky.) – A fatal collision shut down Petersburg Road on Friday afternoon.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 3500 block of Petersburg Road for an accident with extrication.

The preliminary investigation shows that a passenger vehicle, driven by Aiden Wager, was traveling westbound on Petersburg Road when it suddenly traveled into the eastbound lane and collided with a minivan, driven by Justin Mayfield. 

The collision resulted in the death of Wagner, 20, of Burlington. Mayfield, 49, of Burlington, sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment after being extricated.

Petersburg Road reopened as of 3:19 p.m.
