A child abduction attempt in Harrison was an apparent hoax.

An 11-year-old boy reported last week that two men drove up to him on Campbell Road after he had been dropped off by the school bus and offered him candy if he got into their car.

Harrison Police provided an update on Tuesday, saying the report was investigated and determined to be a hoax perpetrated by two high school students. The teens had posted the video of the encounter to SnapChat, according to police.

The students do not attend Harrison High School.

It is unclear if the teens, who are minors, will face any sort of criminal charges.

(Harrison, Oh.) - Harrison Police are investigating a report of a possible child abduction attempt.

An 11-year-old boy says two men tried to lure him into their vehicle as he was walking home just after being dropped off by the school bus Thursday, January 10, reports Fox 19.

Two men in the vehicle reportedly offered the boy candy and were recording video on a cellphone. The boy ran home for help.

A neighbor’s security camera captured part of the encounter. The video has been circulating on social media in hopes of generating leads. The vehicle could be red Ford Fusion, but investigators are not sure.

Call Harrison Police at (513) 367-3715 if you have information that can help identify the men.
