(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A potentially big snow storm is bearing down on the tri-state.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from 4:00 a.m. Saturday until 4:00 a.m. Sunday for communities in the northern half of the Eagle Country 99.3 listening area.

Forecasts are calling for four to seven inches of snow, with ice accumulations, in Franklin County and areas north.

Most of our area is likely to see mostly rain on Saturday as temperatures will be a few degrees above freezing, which could create localized flooding. The rain could change to snow as the sun sets Saturday.

Winds will also pick up Saturday evening with gusts up to 40 MPH as an arctic cold front blows in, according to the weather service. Sunday’s high temperature will only reach 18.

With a high of 18 during the day and blustery conditions, wind chills Sunday night could be as cold as 10 below zero.
