(Ripley County, Ind.) – Save the date for the Ripley County Community Foundation’s 15th “Women in Philanthropy Luncheon” on April 24th. Ladies of all ages from across Ripley County, this is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive impact in our community. This is a great time to come together with friends and meet new ones; gain understanding of the difference you can make in the lives of neighboring women and children to make their futures brighter; enjoy a delicious luncheon and a chance to win prizes, all in the name of charity. It also provides attendees a cross-community  opportunity to collaborate and address issues that effect women and children residing in Ripley County.  Donations to the Linda S. Phaneuf Women in Philanthropy Fund benefit so many, from this generosity shows that with collective power and pooled assets, incredibly good things will be achieved.

For the first time three grants will be awarded, so attendees will vote on which organization will receive $1,500, $1,000 and $500 for their good cause. Local organizations striving to improve the lives of Ripley County women and children may apply. Grant applications are due by April 6 and may be obtained from the Community Foundation office, or online at www.rccfonline.org/grants. Previous recipients of the Women’s Fund Grant have been: YMCA, Safe Passage, Margaret Mary Health, Hansen Center, New Horizons, and Totes for Tots and Teens, among others.

Luncheon attendees are encouraged to continue living generously with a presentation from Carla Austin, an inspirational speaker who has supported her own community with acts of kindness and philanthropy.  The mother of four has held a myriad of positions including: reporter, public relations coordinator and community foundation director. She’s passionate about Indiana history and improving Indiana communities.

This year’s Women in Philanthropy Luncheon will be on Tuesday April 24, 2018, 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the St. Maurice Catholic Church Hall.  The $50.00 ticket price includes a $25.00 donation to the Lin Phaneuf Women and Children Fund.  Purchase your ticket before April 18th by contacting the Ripley County Community Foundation, 13 E. George Street, Suite B, Batesville, (812) 933-1098 or via email at office@rccfonline.org.
