The six-county collaborative is seeking funding from the state to improve quality of life in the region.
(Indiana, Southeast) – Community members in six southeastern Indiana counties will be heavily relied upon to help attract talent, innovation, and investment in the region.
SEI READI is comprised of counties, cities, towns, private businesses, institutions, and philanthropic organizations of Dearborn, Franklin, Ripley, Ohio, Switzerland, and Union counties.
Together, the collaborative is seeking to achieve part of the $500 million allocation from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) to help improve quality of life in southeastern Indiana.
SEI READI hopes to secure funding by leveraging ideas and feedback from regional stakeholders with four community workshops:
- August 5, 2021 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Brookville Library
- August 5, 2021 from 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. at Lawrenceburg Ivy Tech
- August 6, 2021 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Osgood Town Hall
- August 6, 2021 from 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Switzerland County Technology and Education Center
"We will set forward-thinking strategic goals in our effort to obtain READI funding for the benefit of the whole region. This is an instance where local ideas and feedback could truly be transformational. We want to engage everyone in the region who has ideas to improve quality of life and attract talent, innovation, and investment,” says Lindsay Bloos, Senior Project Consultant at TPMA.

Regions initially had until August 31 to submit plans for regional development, but the state announced Monday an extended submission deadline for the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI), providing regions an additional 30 days to submit proposals.
Those proposals are now due before September 30.
Proposals will be reviewed throughout October and November, and first round investment decisions will be made and announced in December. More information, including answers to frequently asked questions and a map of all the identified regions, is available at IndianaREADI.com.
