More graduating seniors will have the opportunity for the scholarships.

(Osgood, Ind.) - Southeastern Indiana REMC is pleased to announce a change in its scholarship program, making the opportunity to receive financial assistance for a post-secondary education available to a greater number of graduating Seniors.

This change comes after many years of offering scholarship opportunities exclusively for students attending the Southeastern Career Center in Versailles, Indiana. “We identified the specific programs that could potentially lead to a co-op career and allowed the administration at the Career Center to select the recipients from those programs for the scholarships. However, not all students in our service territory have the option to attend the Career Center in Versailles. This led us to make the decision to bring the scholarship program back in-house, redefine the eligibility requirements, and give more students the opportunity to apply,” said Board President, Darrell Smith.

SEIREMC will award three $500 scholarships to eligible graduating Seniors in 2021. All eligible applicants will be entered into a drawing, which will take place during the REMC’s virtual annual meeting on March 30th at 6 p.m. EDT.

Eligibility Requirements

• The parents or legal guardians of the applicant must be a member of Southeastern Indiana REMC.

• The applicant must be a 2021 graduating Senior.

• The recipient must enroll in post-secondary education as a full-time student in the fall of 2021.

Applications must be submitted online at www.seiremc.com by March 29.
