Southeastern Indiana REMC Awards $54,550 in Operation RoundUp Grants

Twenty-seven local organizations received funding.

(Osgood, Ind.) - Southeastern Indiana REMC is thrilled to announce that, through its Operation RoundUp program, it has awarded a total of $54,550 in grants to local non-profit organizations in its first grant cycle of 2024.

Operation RoundUp is a voluntary program where cooperative members round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar. These small contributions are pooled together to make a significant impact in the community, funding projects and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents in our service area.

July 2024 Grant Recipients:

1. Dearborn County CASA – $1,800

2. Dearborn County Soil and Water - $2,500

3. Heart House Inc. - $1,600

4. Pregnancy Care Center of SE IN - $2,500

5. Bright Lions Club - $2,500

6. North Dearborn Pantry - $2,500

7. Big Oaks Conservation Society - $1,100

8. Girls Inc of Jefferson County, IN - $2,500

9. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast IN - $2,200

10. Jennings County Council on Domestic Violence - $1,200

11. Jennings County Coordinating Council - $2,000

12. Jennings County EMS - $2,500

13. Ohio County Historical Society, Inc. - $2,000

14. Ohio County Community Schools - $1,400

15. Rising Sun – Ohio County Park Board - $500

16. Morris Volunteer Fire Department - $2,250

17. Ripley county Historical Society - $1,000

18. Lifetime Resources DBA Catch A Ride - $2,500

19. Laughery Valley Fish and Game Protective Association - $2,500

20. Child Evangelism Fellowship of IN, SE Chapter - $2,500

21. Ripley Crossing - $2,500

22. Batesville Memorial Library - $1,600

23. South Ripley Student Ambassadors - $1,000

24. Versailles Church of Christ - $2,500

25. Oldenburg Academy Girls Basketball - $2,500

26. Friends of Batesville Memorial Public Library - $2,400

27. Batesville Fire Department - $2,500

Since its inception in 2015, the Operation RoundUp program has contributed $930,831.69 to local causes, embodying the cooperative’s commitment to community enrichment and support.
