(St. Leon, Ind.) - The Sunman-Dearborn Community School Corporation is delighted to share the significant accomplishments achieved in the second year of our ambitious 5-year strategic plan. As we mark this milestone, we are proud to report continued improvements in instruction, updated facilities, expanded access to resources, and continuing to be the highest-paid staff in Southeastern Indiana.

In keeping with our commitment to academic excellence, Sunman-Dearborn has devoted considerable resources to further enhance instruction and professional development for our educators. Over the past year, we have seen notable growth in student achievement and outcomes, including an average 5% improvement in ILEARN and SAT passage rates. Our dedicated teachers and administrators have undergone specialized training programs, ensuring they are equipped with the latest teaching methodologies and technology. As a result, we have witnessed a significant increase in student performance, proving our commitment to excellence in education. The success of our students remains at the heart of our mission, and this accomplishment demonstrates our dedication to providing an exceptional learning environment.

In addition to academic advancements, Sunman-Dearborn Community School Corporation has prioritized the modernization of our facilities and expanded access to resources for all our students. The physical environment in which education takes place plays a pivotal role in student success. Over the past several years, we have embarked on an extensive facilities improvement program, which includes renovating classrooms, upgrading technology infrastructure, and creating safer, more inclusive spaces for our students and staff. These efforts are designed to create a learning environment that fosters innovation and collaboration, preparing our students for success in the 21st century.

One of our proudest accomplishments is becoming the employer of choice for educators in Southeastern Indiana. Sunman-Dearborn Community School Corporation recognizes that the dedication and talent of our staff are integral to the success of our students. In the pursuit of this goal, we have implemented a competitive compensation package for our teachers and staff, making us the highest-paid staff in Southeastern Indiana. Our educators are the backbone of our school district, and we believe that recognizing their commitment and hard work through competitive salaries is crucial in attracting and retaining top-tier talent.

"We are thrilled with the progress made in the first year of our five-year strategic plan," said Jamie Graf, Board President. "The achievements in instruction, facility updates, and our commitment to our staff's well-being represent the core values of Sunman-Dearborn. We are determined to continue this trajectory, ensuring that our students receive the best possible education and that our staff remains well-compensated for their dedication."

Sunman-Dearborn Community School Corporation remains committed to creating a first-class education system that empowers students and supports our exceptional staff. With nearly four more years to realize our strategic plan's full potential, we eagerly anticipate further accomplishments in the years to come.
