(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Tonight's Senior Night golf match, set to take place in Milan, Indiana, will feature an extraordinary twist—a friendly competition among three generations of golf coaches, all from the same family. Representing Lawrenceburg, Milan, and South Dearborn High Schools, these three remarkable women—Mrs. Courtney Monahan, Mrs. Michelle Hosmer, and Mrs. Jeanne Kinnett—will coach their teams against one another in a match that symbolizes decades of dedication to the sport of golf.

Lawrenceburg High School’s first-year golf coach, Mrs. Courtney Monahan, is no stranger to the world of golf. In addition to serving as the school nurse, Monahan has been playing golf since childhood, having been coached by her grandmother, Mrs. Jeanne Kinnett, during her own high school years. Regarding tonight's match, Monahan shared, "With this being my first year coaching, we are very excited for this unique twist of fate where there will be three generations of coaches, coaching their athletes at a three-way golf match. This will be the first time we have competed against each other in a coaching capacity.”

Mrs. Monahan continued, “I have been playing golf since I was very young. My whole family golfs, so we have all been involved in the sport for many years. My grandmother was my coach when I was in high school as well. While we are so very excited to compete against each other, I do acknowledge the unique nature of the situation. It will be a bit surreal coaching against the people who taught me so much about the game of golf. With that being said, at the end of the day, it's still a competition and I am going to do everything I can to help my girls win the match!"

Representing Milan High School is Mrs. Michelle Hosmer, Mrs. Monahan’s mother, who is in her 12th year of coaching. Mrs. Hosmer reflected on her long history of golf in the family, "I myself went to high school in Milan when my mom, Jeanne Kinnett, started coaching at South Dearborn. It has been a long run between my mom and I with her coaching against her daughter and with myself playing against my mother for all of my four years of high school. I coached against my mom for about ten years before my daughter, Courtney, became a freshman at South Dearborn High School and I began coaching against her and my mom. This family is all about golf—it’s who we are. Even all of our husbands have learned to play!"

Mrs. Hosmer added, "We have been through a lot these past four years. I am a kidney transplant recipient, so for a couple of years, I didn’t think I would even be around to see this. To be able to experience this great moment means so much to me! I am so proud of my mom for her 40 years of coaching, and I am so proud of my daughter for carrying on the tradition of coaching girls golf."

Rounding out the trio is Mrs. Jeanne Kinnett, the grandmother of Mrs. Monahan and mother of Mrs. Hosmer, who is celebrating her 40th year as the golf coach at South Dearborn High School. Kinnett expressed her excitement for this special occasion: "What a great way to top off my 40 years of coaching at South Dearborn! A match between my daughter's team and granddaughter's team. Whatever the outcome of the match, my family will always be winners. Milan's team has the most veteran players, Lawrenceburg has mostly new players, and my team is somewhere in the middle, so we will wait and see which team will stroke to a victory! It will be a fun time with it being all the teams' Senior Nights as well. My team will be enjoying a pizza party and my famous chocolate brownies!"

This family’s love for the game of golf runs deep, and tonight promises to be a special event for all involved. The match is scheduled for 6:00 PM at the Milan Golf Course, where spectators are welcome to watch these three generations of coaches guide their teams through what will undoubtedly be an unforgettable competition
