INDIANAPOLIS - Today is National Voter Registration Day! Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales and the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) are reminding citizens to register to vote.
Since taking office, increasing voter turnout has been a top priority for Secretary Diego Morales. The Indiana Secretary of State’s Office has put a major emphasis on voter outreach efforts throughout the state.
“As Chief Election Officer, I work every day to encourage every eligible Hoosier to register to vote. With today being National Voter Registration Day, I want to remind Hoosiers to use this day to check and make sure they are registered to vote. The Municipal Election is less than two months away. Make your voice heard through your vote,” said Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales.
Citizens can register to vote by visiting IndianaVoters.com, or can submit an application to register in person at their local county clerk's office. The deadline to register to vote is October 10, 2023, for the upcoming November 7, 2023, election.
In celebration of National Voter Registration Day, the Secretary of State’s Office is sponsoring the Indianapolis Indians game tonight. The office will have an information booth set up in centerfield so Hoosiers can register to vote. Also, Secretary Morales will be throwing out the first pitch tonight at the Indianapolis Indians game.
NASS members established September as National Voter Registration Month as a non-partisan means of encouraging voter participation and increasing awareness about state requirements and deadlines for voting.
Voters with questions can contact their local election office or call the Hoosier Voter Hotline at 866-IN-1-VOTE.
