The event allows veterans a meaningful way to share their experiences and civilians a way to honor them.

(Florence, Ky.) - TVCA invites everyone to join in supporting the men and women of the armed forces and their families during its Veteran Reflections – A Night of Story Telling & Honoring Veterans on August 23, 2018. This is the first time ever in Kentucky and will be held at the Citi building located at 4600 Houston Road, Florence KY 41042. There will be a Resource Fair starting at 6:00 pm with the speakers beginning at 7:00 pm. This event is FREE to attend, thanks to our wonderful sponsors!

We have amazing speakers scheduled to attend including Lt Gov Jenean Hampton (Operation Desert Shield / Storm), Noah Switzer (WW II – Iwo Jima), Gerry Izzo (Black Hawk Down), Tommy Rieman (Silver Star & Purple Heart), Johna Mercer (Retired Air Force), Jerry Bowling Jr. (Afghanistan), and Ben Bloch (Operation Iraqi Freedom). The event will end at approximately 9:30pm.

TVCA host the Veteran Reflection events to help bridge the military/civilian divide in our community. It allows veterans a meaningful way to share their experiences and civilians a way to honor them, gain a better understanding of their experiences, and help reintegrate them back into the community.

Here are few statistics regarding the growing military/civilian divide:

  • 99.5% of American adults have not served on active duty since 9/11
  • Only 8% of American adults are veterans
  • Less than 26% of civilians believe they have much in common with veterans

The fact is when you sit with us during an event it makes a statement. It means that our community is passionate about reducing this divide and honoring the service and sacrifice of our veterans.
