(Vevay, Ind.) – Dozens of dogs were discovered inside three trailers in Switzerland County on Tuesday, leading to a criminal investigation.
Switzerland County Prosecutor Monica Hensley tells Eagle 99.3 that Switzerland County Animal Control made the discovery on Tuesday. Approximately 90 dogs were being kept inside three mobile homes on property along Cogley Cole Road, just outside of Vevay.
All the animals were taken to the Switzerland County Animal Shelter where they are being examined. Hensley was unsure of the dogs’ conditions or if any of the animals had to be euthanized.
The property owner, whom Hensley declined to name, could face charges. The investigation is continuing by the prosecutor’s office with assistance from the Indiana Board of Animal Health.
