UPDATE: Four Dead in House Fire in Jefferson County

The fire took place Tuesday afternoon at a home on Telegraph Hill Road.

Update

The four people who were found deceased in a burning home near Madison have been identified.

Naomi Briner, 35, and her three children were located at their Telegraph Hill Road on Tuesday.

According to Indiana State Police, all four of the deceased had injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

The investigation is ongoing. However, investigators do not believe that there is a threat to the public.

(Jefferson County, Ind.) – A death investigation is underway after the bodies of four individuals were found inside a burning residence.

Detectives with the Indiana State Police – Versailles Post responded to the home on Telegraph Hill Road, just outside of Madison in rural Jefferson County on Tuesday afternoon.

The preliminary investigation indicates that emergency personnel arrived at the residence shortly after 4:00 and found the home on fire.

Upon entering the home, firefighters located the bodies of the four individuals, and despite life-saving measures, all four were pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, the identities of the deceased individuals are not being released until proper identification can be made.

Autopsies are scheduled to be performed in Hamilton County, Ohio to determine the cause and manner of death.

More information is expected to be released at a later date.
