The cleanup effort is scheduled for Saturday, April 6.
(Dearborn County, Ind.) – It’s spring cleaning time in Dearborn County.
Sugar Ridge resident Rich Martin is organizing a cleanup effort on a segment of Stateline Road between the two entrances to Augusta Drive on Saturday, April 6 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. as part of the Dearborn County Anti-Litter Initiative.
“Local residents often see Rich picking up litter in the area and taking care of the right-of-way,” said Celeste Calvitto, chair of the Dearborn County Anti-Litter Initiative. “We appreciate him leading this Stateline effort.”
Volunteers are needed for the project. Anyone interested in participating should contact Rich Martin at sugarridgecommunity@gmail.com, or send a message through the Dearborn County Anti-Litter Initiative Facebook page.
Bags, gloves and other equipment will be provided. Volunteers are asked to meet at 7:45 a.m. in the parking lot of the Sugar Ridge Golf Course.
During the cleanup effort, Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputies will be on hand to direct drivers away from the cleanup site to the Augusta Drive detour. Motorists are advised to use extra caution through the detour zone since it’s a residential area.
In the case of inclement weather, the cleanup project could be postponed. Check the Dearborn County Anti-Litter Initiative Facebook page for updates.
