Walton Manufacturer To Expand, Add 80 New Jobs

By Travis Thayer (Walton, Ky.) – A northern Kentucky manufacturer is set to break ground on the company’s largest expansion. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Safran Landing Systems has planned a $100 million expansion at its facility off of U.S. 25 in Walton. Safran makes and supplies carbon brakes for aircrafts. Their customers include the military, UPS, FedEx, Delta Air Lines, Spirit Airlines and Air Canada. The expansion will not only increase production, but will also add up to 80 new employees. Currently, Safran employs 290 people at its Walton facility. According to Campbell County judge-executive Scott Pendery, Safran has invested $300 million since 2000. The $100 million expansion is expected to be completed in 2017.
