(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Lawrenceburg American Legion Post 239 will honor local heroes who recently served overseas during a special chicken dinner this weekend.
The “Welcome Home Warriors” dinner will be held at the legion, 201 Second Street, on Saturday, October 19 beginning at 3:00 p.m. The free chicken dinner will also include cole slaw and baked beans.
A number of local soldiers will be presented a plaque recognizing the service. They include Jake Ryle, Scott Lyttle, Jeremy Evans, Kelly Fox and her sister Kerry Otjen, Brett Bondurant, Corey Joerger, Brad Kilburn, Colonel Dr. Jim Swanson, Nick Bishop, Jesse White and Rodger Casebolt.
If you are planning to attend this event, you are urged to bring your family. This will be a great avenue for younger people to interact with soldiers, organizers say.
