Per Ripley County EMA:
Multiple public safety agencies, non-profits and several hundred volunteers have been conducting a search for Carson for over 48 hours now. There is a significant number of resources and equipment coming in and out of the park as part of the ongoing efforts. The park is currently still open; however, the primary search area is closed to the public. DNR has registered over 500 people in the past 2 days that are volunteering to search the grounds.
Update published Friday, March 15 at 9:44 p.m.:
Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the disappearance of an Osgood man in Ripley County.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., Ripley County dispatch received a report of a missing adult male at Versailles Lake within Versailles State Park.
The vehicle of Carson Hughes, 18, of Osgood was located unlocked with the keys still within the vehicle near the boat ramp and his kayak located on the water nearby.
A search for Hughes was conducted on land and water near where his vehicle was located utilizing thermal and side-scan sonar technologies.
The search has been suspended for the night due to darkness and unsafe search conditions and will resume in the morning.
If anyone has information on Hughes’ whereabouts, they are urged to call the Indiana DNR Dispatch Center at 812-837-9536.
Assisting agencies include Ripley County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Indiana Excise Police, PHI Air Medical Services, Versailles Fire Department, Ripley County Emergency Medical Services, Ripley County Emergency Management Agency, and Delaware Volunteer Fire Department.

(Versailles, Ind.) - A wildlife photographer from Osgood has been reported missing.
Indiana Thermal Recovery reported via Facebook that Carson Hughes, 18, was last seen earlier this afternoon at Versailles State Park.
The rescue service says his kayak and truck are still at the park along with his camera, which was located on a tripod near a pond right off the main lake.
A search team is currently searching for his whereabouts.
