The funding will help with multiple projects.
(Aurora, Ind.) – It has been a good couple of weeks for Youth Encouragement Services, Inc. (YES Home).
The nonprofit organization learned this week that they have received a $881,101 grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to help with multiple projects.
The announcement comes two weeks after the YES Home was awarded a $100,000 Impact Grant at the Impact 100 Annual Award Celebration in Cincinnati.
The Impact 100 Grant will be used to renovate the YES Home facility, while the Lilly Endowment Grant will be used to purchase two new vans, add two new staff positions, team building and expanding therapeutic services.
YES Home is one of 187 organizations receiving grants through Lilly Endowment’s initiative, Strengthening Youth Programs in Indiana. The aim of the competitive initiative is to help youth-serving organizations working throughout Indiana improve their abilities to promote the academic, physical, and social well-being of young people ages five through 18.
Executive Director Amy Phillips stated: “We could never have expanded our services this quickly without the Strengthening Family Youth Programs grant. This opportunity has given us the opportunity to dream big and we excited for what we will be able to offer to the youth and families we serve.”
The YES Home is a residential group home for youths ages 12-20, providing a structured, nurturing environment for abused, neglected and abandoned children. Learn more at https://www.yeshome.org/.
