(Franklin County, Ind.) – Yet another serious accident occurred on U.S. 52 in Franklin County on Friday, August 24.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department announced August 14 that deputies would be stepping up patrols on that highway between Brookville and New Trenton. The move followed two fatal crashes, eight personal injury wrecks, and 17 more property damage accidents since May 1.

Holmes and her passenger, Sarah L. Holmes, 48, also of Cincinnati, had to be extricated from the vehicle by Brookville and Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Departments.

Both occupants were transported to Mercy West Hospital in Fairfield, Ohio, by Franklin County E.M.S. for treatment of injuries.

The sheriff’s department was assisted at the crash scene by Brookville Volunteer Fire Department, Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department, Drewersburg EMS #1, Brookville EMS #2, and Responder 24.
