INDIANAPOLIS – Three high school softball stars from southeastern Indiana have earned All-State honors.
The Softball Coaches Association of Indiana recently announced their 2024 All-State Teams, which are split into 1A/2A and 3A/4A.
Milan sophomore Kynadee Bode was selected to the 1A/2A First Team All-State. Bode hit .565 with four home runs and a team-high 47 RBI. She also went 16-6 in the pitching circle with a 3.04 ERA and 221 strikeouts in 175 innings pitched.
Rising Sun senior Nora Powell was named to the 1A/2A Third Team All-State. Powell helped lead the Shiners to a 26-2 record and an appearance in the 1A Semi-State championship game. She was among the top hitters in the ORVC with a .489 average. Powell also knocked in 25 runs, scored 40 times and stole 17 bases.
Franklin County’s Brooke Stang is a Class 3A/4A Second Team All-State selection. The Wildcats’ star hit .539 with nine home runs, 15 doubles, and 29 RBI. She also scored 41 runs and stole 13 bases.
