(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - High schools football programs across the state of Indiana lit up the sky over the weekend after the sudden loss of West Washington head coach Phillip Bowsman.
Bowsman was coaching his team in a Class 1A semi-state game against Indianapolis Lutheran when he had an apparent stroke. He passed away last Monday.
Following his death, West Washington Schools and the Bowsman family called for all Indiana high schools to turn on their stadium lights from Friday morning until the conclusion of funeral services on Saturday.
Lawrenceburg, South Dearborn, East Central and Milan were among other southeastern Indiana schools who turned on their lights to show their support to the Bowsman family.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the Bowsman family during these trying times. If you would like to donate, visit www.gofundme.com/f/bowsman-strong,
