INDIANAPOLIS – Expectations are high again this year in St. Leon.

The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association released their 2021-22 Girls Basketball Preseason Poll on Sunday. The poll features the IBCA’s Top 20 teams in the state regardless of school classification.

There are 20 panelists who vote for the poll -- one voter each from the 16 regionals; three at-large voters (one each from IHSAA Districts 1, 2 and 3); and the committee chairman (Doug Springer of Northridge).

East Central checked in at #15.

The Lady Trojans went 19-5 last season, repeating as sectional champions for the first time in program history.

Despite losing a senior class that went 76-28, the Trojans have plenty of talent coming back this season, including junior forward Josie Trabel.

Trabel was an ICGSA 1st Team All-State selection a season ago, and has been selected by the Indy Star as one of the Top 10 players in the Class of 2023.

Senior guard Hope Fox is back too, making up a dynamic duo with Trabel. Fox was the EIAC MVP as a junior and was named to the ICGSA All-State Third Team.
